Atelier201 vs Webflow

A blog and every language included, an export with your content, and collaborators with no seat price. Webflow charges for each.

Choose Atelier201 if

  • You're paying for a design tool you barely open.
  • Your site needs a blog and a second language.
  • You don't want to pay per seat or per locale.
  • You want your content in the export.
  • You'd like to work from code and an AI agent.
  • Bandwidth limits make you nervous.

Stay on Webflow if

  • Designers on your team work in Webflow every week.
  • You rely on an agency that builds in it.
  • Paying per seat and per language seems fair to you.

Based on each company's public pages and docs, November 2026. A check means it does the job, a dash that it does so partly or for an extra fee, and a cross that it doesn't, or that we couldn't find it.

Lighter than the median Webflow page by ten times

The median Webflow page weighs 3,480 KB and sends 926 KB of JavaScript, and scores 63 on mobile. The real Atelier201 sites we measured weigh up to 351 KB, send 8 KB and score 100.

Where the numbers come from

Competitors: HTTP Archive medians, September 2026. Atelier201: three Lighthouse mobile runs on each of two real sites, November 5, 2026, with the heavier site's weight. On real visits, 71.3% of Webflow sites pass Core Web Vitals on mobile.

Three differences that matter

A blog doesn't change the price

Webflow's Basic plan has no CMS, so a blog pushes a small site to Premium. On Atelier201 there's one plan, and blogs, lists and languages come with it.

An export that includes your content

Webflow is clear about this: code export needs a paid Workspace plan, and "CMS, User Accounts, Ecommerce content... and localized pages" aren't included. Your whole Atelier201 project comes with you, content and languages included.

An editor your whole team can use

Every Atelier201 site gets a form editor generated from its content model. Invite as many people as you like, at no cost per seat, and nothing goes live until someone publishes.

What customers say about Webflow

Chosen by us from public reviews and Reddit. Every quote links to its source.

Charging extra just to add new languages, a 10GB bandwidth limit... it just doesn't sit right.
r/webflow, a long-time supporter
My plan was recently increased from $35 (already absurd) to $46.
Trustpilot, a 15-page portfolio site
Inquiries for migrating to Webflow have really skyrocketed.

Moving from Webflow

Webflow can export its CMS collections as CSV, which is exactly what our import takes, and an agent can rebuild the pages from your public site.

Analytics are built in, and set no cookie. Made-up data.

What comes across

  • CMS collections, from CSV
  • Text and images from your live pages
  • Your domain
  • Old addresses, through redirects

What doesn't

  • Webflow interactions and animations: an agent can rebuild simple ones in code
  • Webflow Ecommerce, memberships
  • The Designer: you won't have a canvas any more

Questions

Is Atelier201 cheaper than Webflow?

For a small site with a blog, yes: €90 a year against $300 for Premium, plus $108 a year for each extra language on Webflow. Atelier201 includes languages and doesn't charge per collaborator.

Does Webflow code export include my content?

No. Webflow's help center says CMS, user accounts, ecommerce, site search and localized content aren't in the exported code. CMS collections can be exported separately as CSV, which is what our import takes.

Does Webflow have an MCP server?

Yes, on every plan including free, and it works well inside Webflow's Designer and CMS. On Atelier201 the agent works on a normal code project, and everyone else gets a form editor.

Can a designer work on Atelier201?

A designer can edit the code and theme, or direct an agent, and see results on a live preview. There's no visual canvas.

How do I migrate from Webflow to Astro?

Export your CMS collections as CSV, let your agent rebuild the pages from your public site in an Astro project, and add redirects so that old addresses and search positions keep working.

Is Atelier201 a good Webflow alternative for SEO and AI search?

Every Atelier201 site is static HTML built with Astro, served from Cloudflare's network, with an XML sitemap, hreflang, JSON-LD structured data, llms.txt and a Markdown copy of every page. That makes it easy for Google, ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and other answer engines to read and cite, which is what generative engine optimization (GEO) and answer engine optimization (AEO) are about.

Can I build my website with Claude, ChatGPT or Gemini?

Yes. Connect your own AI agent, such as Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Cursor or Codex, through the MCP server, the CLI or the REST API. It can create the site, edit pages and content, run a build and prepare publishing. Those calls cost nothing on Atelier201, so you don't pay for AI twice. People without an agent can use the built-in assistant.

Do I own my website and its code?

Yes. Each site is a standard Astro project in its own Git repository. You can pull it with the CLI or export code, content and media at any time, on any plan, then run npm ci and npm run build and host it anywhere. There is no vendor lock-in.
