# Quickstart

1. **Create a site**

   **App**

   Sign up at [app.atelier201.com](https://app.atelier201.com/signup). In
   **Sites**, choose **New site** and enter the business name. The site
   starts from the Atelier201 starter at `<slug>.atelier201.page`, and its first
   build starts by itself.

   **CLI**

   ```bash
   npm install -g @atelier201/cli
   atelier201 auth login
   atelier201 sites create "Maison Dupont" --link
   ```

   `--link` ties the current folder to the new site, so the next commands
   need no `--site`.
2. **Change a text**

   **App**

   Open the **Editor**, click a text on the page and type. Use the
   **Content** tab for blog posts, services, the team and opening hours.

   **CLI**

   ```bash
   atelier201 content model
   atelier201 content set business:/tagline "Fresh bread daily"
   ```

   Read the content model first: every write is checked against it, and a
   value that does not fit is refused with the field name.

   The change goes to the draft. Visitors see nothing yet.
3. **Build it**

   **App**

   Choose **Build**. A build usually takes under a minute.

   **CLI**

   ```bash
   atelier201 builds start --wait
   ```

   A build that fails keeps its log. See [Troubleshooting](/docs/platform/troubleshooting).
4. **Share a preview**

   **App**

   Choose **Share preview**. The link copies to your clipboard.

   **CLI**

   ```bash
   atelier201 previews create
   ```

   Anyone with the link sees that build for 7 days, without an account.
5. **Publish**

   **App**

   Choose **Publish**. It shows what goes live and asks you to confirm.

   **CLI**

   ```bash
   atelier201 publish
   ```

   Visitors see the new version within about a minute.
6. **Connect your domain**

   **App**

   Open **Domains**, enter `www.example.com` and create the two DNS records
   it shows at your registrar.

   **CLI**

   ```bash
   atelier201 domains add www.example.com
   atelier201 domains check <domain_id>
   ```

   A custom domain needs a paid plan. See [Domains](/docs/platform/domains).

> **Info: Prefer to let an agent do it?**
>
> [Connect your agent](/docs/mcp/agent-setup) and ask for the site. It can build
> a draft before you have an account and hand you a link to claim it. See
> [Guest sites](/docs/platform/guest-sites).
