# Read the content model

Requires `sites:read`. Read this before you write content: every write is validated against it.

The model comes from the latest build, so a site must have been built once. See [Content model and media](/docs/platform/content-model).

- `site_id` (`string`, required): The site's id, or its slug (the address before .atelier201.page).

## Response

**200**: Read the content model

- `data.build_id` (`string`, required)
- `data.revision` (`string`, required, length: `40–40 chars`): A Git commit id (40 hex characters) of the site's repository.
- `data.draft_revision` (`string | null`, required): The draft's revision now. It differs from revision once content was saved since that build, which is fine.
- `data.stale` (`boolean`, required): True when the files the model is built from changed since this build: writes are then refused (stale_content_model) until the draft is built. Agents never see it true: the call waits for that build.
- `data.collections` (`Record<string, Record<string, object>>`, required)
- `data.singletons` (`Record<string, Record<string, object>>`, required)
