# Commit a changeset

Requires `sites:write`. Changes the draft only. Visitors see nothing until you [publish](/docs/api/publishing/publish).

A staged file that changed since the base revision refuses the commit with `409 conflict`, and nothing is written. Open a new changeset on the current revision.
